Аннотация: This article discusses the use of fiction in english lessons. The issues of the effectiveness of using literary texts their advantages as well as how fiction affects the intellectual and social skills of students were considered. We analyzed the information that should be taken into account when choosing literary texts as well as information that should be taken into account to achieve positive results in the reading process. Models of reading and working on a literary text were also considered. The analysis of what kind of skills students acquire using each model is carried out.
