While traditional views criticized translation methods for relying too much on the native language, recent interest signals their integration into language teaching. GTM, a timeless approach, stays relevant for its impact on vocabulary and text comprehension. Despite concerns about limited exposure to the target language, GTM is lauded for fostering cultural understanding. The study critically assesses GTM's pros and cons, analyzes its impact on language development, and explores the potential of modern translation technologies. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach with 83 students and 3 teachers, the findings show notable language proficiency improvement, affirming GTM's effectiveness according to both educators and students.
