Аннотация: Classical elements permeate global academic discourse and scientific terminology. Understanding the meanings and functioning of these elements can help multilingual scholars cope with disciplinary literature and write for publication and is therefore essential in teaching English for academic and specific purposes. However, few manuals on academic vocabulary ex-plore word-formation in-depth or use it as a tool to alleviate learning through analysis and syn-thesis rather than memorizing words. Russian, as many other European languages, is a synthetic language in which affixation is as productive as in Latin. The paper presents a well-designed and approbated course of academic vocabulary for social scientists, analyses relationships between linguistic studies and teaching academic vocabulary, and discusses the ways of increasing the effectiveness and clarity of teaching by more systematic study of classical elements, enhancing students’ analytical skills through innovative methodology and using the advantages of similari-ties between Russian and Latin word-formation. Comparative analysis demonstrates that the key features of the course, such as interactive computer-based visual materials and various ana-lytical tasks involving students’ background knowledge and academic awareness, help students not only decipher unknown words, but also produce neologisms, which is essential in coping with new terminology. Published as a book, Academic Vocabulary for Social Sciences is now available for teachers, students and researchers as a resource for study and self-study. The ef-fectiveness of the approach demonstrates that it can be used as a model to design similar specific vocabulary courses for students of other synthetic languages.

Авторлар мақалада 2000 жылдардан бастап қазіргі кезге дейінгі екіжақты экономикалық қатынастардың қысқаша эволюциясын ашып көрсеткен. Авторлар Өзбекстанның бірінші басшысы Ислам Каримов және Өзбекстанның қазіргі Президенті Шавкат Мирзиеевтың саясатын салыстыра отырып, бұл кезеңде Орталық Азиялық интеграцияның даму деңгейін сипаттаған. Авторлардың пайымдауынша, Қазақстанның Өзбекстанға болған қарым-қатынасы әрқашан ашық сипатта болып, интеграцияға бағытталған. Авторлар тек екіжақты сауда айналымының динамикасын ғана емес, қазіргі кезеңдегі жүзеге асырылып жатқан екіжақты бірлескен жобаларды, көлік-логистика саласындағы жетістектерді оң бағалайды.The article discusses new approaches to economic relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, assesses the development of bilateral economic relations at the present stage, tells about the impact of new foreign policy initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on bilateral relations . In the article, the author reveals a brief evolution of bilateral economic relations from the 2000s to the present. Comparing the policy of the first head of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and the current President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the author described the level of development of Central Asian integration at this stage . The author believes that Kazakhstan's relations with Uzbekistan are always open and aimed at integration . However, as a result of Uzbekistan's excise policy pursued by Karimov, relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were of the nature of mutual understanding, friendship, and the volume of mutual trade developed slowly . For example, if in Karimov's leadership in the 2000s, the annual trade turnover of the two countries amounted to $ 295 .4 million, then in 2021, at Mirziyoyev's initiative, for 4 months after Uzbekistan stopped applying excise taxes on transported goods, the bilateral trade turnover for January-April amounted to $ 1 .2 billion . This is about 12 times more than in 2000 . The author positively assesses not only the dynamics of bilateral trade turnover, but also the bilateral joint project being implemented at the present stage, achievements in the transport and logistics sphere .
