Аннотация: Это исследование направлено на анализ ресурсов английского языка в средних школах на основе критериев оценки навыков чтения, изложенных в PISA. Он дает представление о соответствии этих ресурсов стандартам PISA, уделяя особое внимание когнитивным процессам, для понимания насколько материалы поддерживают или препятствуют развитию навыков мышления высокого поряд-ка, что необходимо для разработки эффективных образовательных стратегий. Для оценки материалов из банка ресурсов, созданных учителями в 21средних школах Казахстана, был использован анализ документов. Задания и тексты были проана-лизированы по форматам текстов, жанров и когнитивным процессам чтения, опи-санным в рамке PISA. Результаты исследования показывают, что наиболее часто используемым текстовым форматом является сплошной текст, при этом преобла-дают повествовательные и пояснительные тексты. Кроме того, большинство зада-ний в первую очередь направлены на понимание и интерпретацию информации. В целом, банк ресурсов английского языка в средней школе не в полной мере соответствует критериям PISA по навыкам чтения. Следовательно, рекомендуется провести дополнительную подготовку учителей для разработки заданий по чте-нию и текстов, соответствующих когнитивным областям PISA. This study aims to assess English language resources in secondary schools based on the reading skill criteria outlined by PISA. It offers insights into the alignment of these resources with PISA frameworks, focusing on cognitive processes to under-stand how these materials support or hinder higher-order thinking skills, which are essential for developing effective educational strategies. Document analysis was em-ployed to evaluate materials from English language resources created by teachers at 21 secondary schools in Kazakhstan. The tasks and texts were analyzed by text format, genre, and the cognitive processes outlined in the PISA reading framework. The find-ings reveal that the most frequently used text format is continuous text, with instruc-tional genres being predominant; narrative and explanatory texts were also included more often. Additionally, most tasks primarily focus on understanding and interpreting information, largely involving lower order thinking skills. Overall, the resources in sec-ondary school English language courses do not align fully with PISA reading skills crite-ria. Consequently, it is recommended that additional training be provided for teachers to develop reading tasks and texts that adhere to PISA’s cognitive domains.

Аннотация: В наши дни невозможно представить повседневную жизнь без цифровых технологий, и сфера образования не является исключением. Использование цифровых технологий в образовательном процессе становится особенно актуальным, поскольку они создают новые возможности для обучения и помогают сделать уроки более привлекательными, полезными и продуктивными для учащихся. Цель статьи - выявить тенденции использования учителями на уроках цифровых технологий и определить наиболее популярные из них. В данной статье представлен опыт применения учителями школ цифровых инструментов и мобильных приложений. Сбор и анализ данных был получен в ходе онлайн-опроса, в котором участвовали около 45 учителей английского языка. Результаты опроса показали, что большинство школьных учителей регулярно используют цифровые технологии и мобильные приложения, чтобы сделать уроки иностранного языка более интересными, однако другая часть опрошенных считает эти технологии полезными, но редко или никогда не применяет их на своих занятиях. Выводы этой статьи могут познакомить учителей с разнообразием цифровых инструментов и мобильных приложений и помочь эффективно вовлечь учащихся в процесс обучения иностранному языку. These days it is impossible to imagine everyday routine without digital technologies and the sphere of education is not an exception. The use of digital technologies for educational process is becoming especially relevant because they create new opportunities for studying and assist to make lessons more attractive, useful and productive for learners. The aim of the article is to reveal the tendency of using digital technologies by teachers at the lessons and define the most popular ones. This article discusses a variety of digital instruments and mobile applications for learning English used for different educational purposes by both teachers and learners. The article provides an experience of using digital instruments and mobile applications by school teachers based on data collection, generated from the survey. The survey results have shown that most school teachers have regular tendency to apply digital technologies and mobile applications at their lessons to make it more interesting for learners, however, some school teachers considering these technologies useful still rarely or never apply them at their lessons. The article findings can benefit teachers with identified variety of digital instruments and mobile applications for teaching and assist to engage learners into the process of teaching a foreign language efficiently.

Аннотация: В данной статье рассматриваются проблемные вопросы, раскрывающие роль педагогических компетенций учителя в развитии метакогнитивных компетенций школьников. Цель исследования - изучить значимость дидактических компетенций в формировании необходимых умений и навыков у школьников. Методология исследования включала литературный анализ доступных источников, анкетирование и тестирование старшеклассников. В результате было установлено, что педагогические компетенции действительно способствуют формированию необходимых компетенций у учащихся при условии, что учитель использует в своей деятельности различные методы, средства и приемы воздействия на своих учеников. Полученные результаты свидетельствуют о наличии взаимосвязи между педагогическими компетенциями преподавателей и развитием метакогнитивных навыков студентов. Однако исследование выявило и ряд проблем. Во-первых, студенты отметили недостаточное развитие педагогических компетенций преподавателей. Во-вторых, параллельно был выявлен низкий уровень развития метакогнитивных навыков у самих студентов. На основе полученных результатов предлагаются рекомендации по повышению уровня педагогической компетентности учителей с целью улучшения показателей развития метакогнитивных компетенций у старшеклассников. Данные рекомендации учитывают выявленные проблемы и основаны на успешном опыте применения разработанной методики. The present article deals with the problematic issues revealing the role of teacher’s pedagogical competencies in the development of schoolchildren’s metacog-nitive competencies. The purpose of the study is to investigate the significance of di-dactic competencies in the formation of required skills and abilities in schoolchildren. The research methodology included literary analysis of available sources, questionnaire survey and testing of high school students. As a result, it was found that pedagogical competencies do contribute to the development of required competencies in students, provided that the teacher uses in his/her activity various methods, means and tech-niques of influence on his/her students. The findings indicate that there is a relation-ship between teachers’ pedagogical competencies and the development of students’ metacognitive skills. However, the study also revealed a number of problems. Firstly, students reported insufficient development of teachers’ pedagogical competencies. Secondly, a low level of meta-skills in students themselves was established in parallel. Based on the results obtained, recommendations are offered to improve the level of teachers’ pedagogical competencies in order to improve the indicators of metacog-nitive competencies development among high school students. These recommenda-tions take into account the identified problems and are based on the successful expe-rience of applying the developed methodology.
